Cleaning, maintaining and changing the Quooker filter
In the Mykitchens magazine we show you how to clean and maintain the Quooker and everything you need to know about changing the filter.
Reading time: approx. 1.5 minutes
It is the all-rounder for the kitchen: the Quooker faucet. Cold, warm, boiling hot and cold sparkling water as well as filtered still water are all no problem for it. Once you have installed it in the kitchen, you will enjoy the new water system for a long time. But only with the right care! In the Mykitchens magazine we show you how to clean and maintain the Quooker and have summarized all the tips and tricks on the subject of changing the filter on the Quooker faucet for you.
Cleaning the Quooker tap
Depending on the surface, you should clean the Quooker tap differently. In general, however, avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring pads and vinegar! This can damage the surface of the tap.
Ideally, you should only use a little warm water to clean the tap. Then rub it dry with a microfiber cloth to prevent limescale stains from forming.

Gold
The Quooker Gold can be cleaned with glass cleaner and a damp cloth.

Shiny chrome
The Quooker in shiny chrome can also be cleaned with a little glass cleaner .

Stainless steel
Stainless steel fittings from Quooker can also be cleaned with a damp cloth and possibly some glass cleaner.

Black
The Quooker black can only be cleaned with warm water. Then rub it dry well to avoid limescale stains.

Copper Rosé & Gunmetal
The metallic colors Copper Rosé and Gunmetal are also only cleaned with warm water.

Brass Patina
Quooker Brass Patina is only cleaned with water. The surface changes over time. For intensive care, you can rub the fitting with a little beeswax every now and then.
Descale the Quooker
When it comes to water, limescale always plays a role. Limescale can build up on the Quooker tap and in the reservoir. Therefore, you should descale the Quooker about twice a year. This depends on the water hardness in the region.
If the water is particularly hard and contains limescale, the Quooker needs to be descaled more often. At the latest, when the water jet becomes weaker, it is time for descaling. Because limescale can also build up in the reservoir, we recommend a complete Quooker maintenance after about 5 years.

Descale the aerator
Limescale on the Quooker tap can be removed using vinegar water. To do this, unscrew the tap strainer (the aerator) from the tap and place it in a bowl of vinegar and water for a while (approx. 1 hour). Then rinse thoroughly and reinstall.
If the aerator is too heavily calcified, you can also replace it directly with a Quooker spare part.
Descale the reservoir
Limescale can also build up in the Quooker reservoir over time. This limescale in the reservoir can be removed with a little water. To do this, the reservoir must first be switched off and removed.
The Quooker Scale Control R for descaling is also available for the reservoir. The cartridges are recommended for water hardnesses of 20°dH and above. In regions where there is high water hardness, this can delay maintenance. This is because the system reduces the hardness of the water and thus also the limescale.
The Scale Control R cartridges must be reordered regularly as soon as they are saturated and are sent back empty directly to Quooker.

Quooker Filter
The Quooker has two filters that ensure good water quality:
- The Quooker HiTAC-Filter® on the reservoir
- The CUBE filter
Change the HiTAC® filter
Every Quooker reservoir is equipped with the HiTAC® filter (High Temperature Activated Carbon). This is an activated carbon filter that ensures good water quality and is located in the reservoir. It reduces impurities that affect the color, taste and smell of drinking water. The Quooker filter should be replaced approximately every 5 years.
Change the CUBE filter
The Quooker CUBE is (optionally) equipped with a combined hollow fiber/activated carbon filter, which is located outside the CUBE. For hygiene reasons, it must be replaced annually. When this is the case, the CUBE emits an acoustic signal. The instructions for changing the filter are on the filter.
About the Quooker brand
Quooker is a family business with products related to the innovative faucet with boiling water function. What began in 1970 with an idea by Henri Peteri is now one of the most practical tools in the kitchen.
