The Berbel principle
Berbel is a real extractor hood specialist. The company focuses exclusively on the extractor hood in the kitchen. It goes without saying that such a specialist has its own characteristics than those normally found on the market.
Typical for berbel extractor hoods is the technology used. The so-called berbel principle. The way the filter works is completely different to that of hoods from other manufacturers, such as Miele or Bosch. This is because berbel extractor hoods work with centrifugal force. Cooking fumes are drawn in through a gap in the hood, accelerated and deflected in an arc. This resulting force can then throw dirt particles out of the air. For example, fat and oil particles. These in turn are separated and collected on the upper and lower bowls and on the collecting sieve (the so-called capillary trap).
But it's not just the berbel principle that is unique to the company. There are also other innovative ideas inside the extractor hoods. BackFlow, for example. This is a patented berbel technology inside the hoods that prevents condensation and droplets from forming on the decorative panel. It does so through ventilation arranged from bottom to top. This means that no unsightly spots are formed by rising water vapor, which could otherwise settle on the cold hood surface. EcoSwitch, a flexible switching and combination of recirculation and exhaust air operation, is also one of the berbel highlights inside the hoods.

The most popular Berbel extractor hood on the market is the Berbel Skyline. A ceiling hood that is not even recognizable as an extractor hood at first glance. Its absolute unique selling point is that it is extendable. When you switch the ceiling hood on, it moves down from the ceiling on four cables and positions itself about 45 cm above the hob. When you switch it off again, the extractor hood disappears into the kitchen ventilation ceiling. There it is almost invisible. It just looks like a pretty ceiling light.

This is how the Berbel Skyline is installed
When installing, you can choose between partially or fully retractable. If the ceiling hood can be completely retracted into the ceiling, this naturally has the advantage that the hood sits flush. This enables a very modern kitchen design in which the extractor hood takes up as little space as possible. However, if the hood is only partially retractable, it stands out a little more. Nevertheless, the Berbel Skyline can also be put in the spotlight. As a visual light highlight in the kitchen. Similar to a stylish ceiling lamp.
When installing, you can choose between partially or fully retractable. Can the Four ropes are used for the bracket, each attached to the corners. This is how the Berbel Ergoline is installed
In terms of performance, the wall hood is of course impressive with the berbel principle and the patented BackFlow technology. Inside, the capillary trap ensures freshly filtered air. The EC fan motor is also built into it. The absolute advantage over the Skyline Edge is that the Ergoline 2 can be used in both exhaust and recirculation mode. A combination of both types of extraction (hybrid) is also possible.
The removable capillary trap and the EC motor are then located inside. Depending on the extraction technology (exhaust or recirculation), the installation of the extractor hood differs slightly. In principle, installation should be carried out at a distance of around 65 cm (gas hobs) or 50 cm (electric hobs) from the hob.
In recirculation mode, an additional recirculation filter (activated carbon filter) is required for the fan outlet. An exhaust air operation requires additional installation of a wall box and window contact switch to ensure sufficient fresh air supply. All three additional requirements are then necessary for hybrid operation. This is because recirculated air and exhaust air are combined. The change is made via the berbel EcoSwitch control.
Berbel Ergoline Design
The Ergoline 2 extractor hood has a control panel on the hood for switching it on and off. The on and off button is always visible. All other control functions light up as soon as the device is active. These include the hob and effect lighting as well as the power levels and the automatic run-on. Please note that the device needs a few seconds to adapt to the ambient conditions after switching it on. During this short time, no other functions can be selected.
A special feature of the look is a slanted hood screen, which can be selected from several colors. Decors in white or silver as well as black and matt black glass give the Ergoline 2 head-free hood an elegant touch. The berbel head-free hood also has stylish back panel lighting. Dimmable LEDs create atmospheric light and transform the extractor hood into a beautiful design object.
The Ergoline extractor hood is often compared with the berbel Glassline wall hood. Both series are similar in design and operation. However, Glassline has a curved hood front. Its distinctive feature is made of fine glass. Otherwise, the Ergoline 2 is functionally identical to the Glassline 2.

All three additional requirements are then required for hybrid operation. This is because recirculation and exhaust air are combined here. The change is made via the berbel EcoSwitch control.
